Re: “Colorado Symphony shares vision for renovated Boettcher Concert Hall,” Sept. 19 news story.
In 2007, I voted for the Denver bond issue that earmarked $60 million for the renovation of Boettcher Concert Hall. According to The Denver Post, $44 million of the $60 million has been spent on other projects. I expected the money to be spent on Boettcher Concert Hall. I did not vote to have Boettcher demolished, nor did I vote for an outdoor venue to replace Boettcher.
I voted in good faith that the money would be spent on Boettcher. Was that unreasonable of me? Was there some fine print on the ballot that I missed? Does anyone else but me feel duped?
A great city deserves a great concert hall, not a grassy knoll for picnics. I did my part for Boettcher. Now itap time for the city to hold up its end of the bargain. And don’t even think about asking me to pitch in any money for it. I already did.
