Fort Carson in Colorado Springs increased its security presence Monday night ‘s northwest perimeter, officials said.
By Tuesday morning the gates were operating on normal procedures and few details were available about the reports.
Officials said there was no active shooter situation.
Shots were fired about 8 p.m. and no one was injured, according to Rick Emert, a base spokesman.
The incident is being investigated by emergency services and military police, Emert said.
