Interview with Lexy Gabriel, co-owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I started gymnastics when I was 5 years old. At 13, I was a Level 10 gymnast, came home one day after training and said I was going to own a gymnastics school. After graduating, I found an ad for a head coach/office manager at Castle Rock School of Gymnastics. My lifelong trainer answered the phone there and hired me on the spot. Three years later, they offered me the gym.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We are family owned. We consider our parents and coaches to be part of our family. The atmosphere in our gym is very friendly and positive. We have five coaches with more than 30 years of coaching experience.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The kids. The kids and their families are the reason we wake up in the morning. We teach more than cartwheels. We teach life lessons.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The day-to-day effort of keeping our gym and everyone involved positive and encouraged.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: I have owned the gym since I was 21, and I am one of the youngest gym owners in the nation.
