Fire crews in Colorado Springs rescued two North Cheyenne Cañon hikers who were struck by a basketball-sized rock Friday morning.

The rescue began about 10 a.m. after firefighters used motorcycles to reach the pair, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

Details on the hikers’ condition were not immediately available.

The hikers were among some 14 to 15 people hiking together on a trail, the department said.
