Cherry Creek’s Santino Marchiol, just a sophomore, recently picked up his second college offer, according to Bruins defensive coordinator Tom Doherty.

The linebacker is in demand by Colorado State.

“He just turned 16,” Doherty said.

Marchiol, 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, led the Class 5A Bruins in tackles a year ago – “As a freshman!” Doherty said –and was fifth heading into Friday’s regular-season finale against Eaglecrest.

Hawaii was Marchiol’s first offer.

“He’s a good guy and has good grades,” Doherty said. “He’s going to be the real deal.”
