Getting your player ready...

Fishing in the afternoon and evening is best for bluegills and bass. Trout action continues to be the best bet, thanks to recent stockings and cooler waters. Boat ramps are closing on many waters, especially in the mountains, so check their websites before hauling your boat. Gross Reservoir is closed to boating, but shore fishing has been decent for trout and small lakers. Chatfield is still fishing well for smallmouth, and the bite should continue for a couple of weeks as long as water temperatures are in the 50s. Arvada Reservoir closes Friday. Red Feather-area waters are fishing well, even on windy days. Most baits are producing, and streamers worked near shore are also a great bet. Other trout waters worth trying are Pinewood, Estes and Lon Hagler. Kokanee have generally been elusive this year on high-country waters, but a cold snap could change that.
