Lauren Gregory knows whatap going on … so you don’t need to remind her.

The 15-year-old sophomore at Fort Collins won her second consecutive Class 5A cross country title last weekend at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs.

So she’s halfway there, to perhaps attaining a quad, as in four consecutive individual titles.

And she knows it, thanks.

“Yes, for sure,” she said earlier this week. “Hopefully, that happens. Of course, itap in the back, but I don’t want it to become my whole goal of high school.”

No, Gregory is bigger than being fixated on one goal.

“I don’t want to put so much pressure on myself,” she said. “If I do end up winning four, I don’t want to be beating myself up over it like crazy. I have so many other things to be putting my energy toward.

“It would be cool, obviously. But if I don’t then some people will be disappointed.”

Better news than winning back-to-back crowns, she said, was “I don’t know, the thing that made it surreal and all-around awesome (last Saturday) was our team won, too. Thatap where the basking is, with the team. Thatap the best part.”
