OKLAHOMA CITY — The Nuggets got plenty of shots up on Saturday morning at the team’s shootaround in advance of tonight’s game against Oklahoma City. But no one was sounding an alarm on that, the team’s most glaring area in need of improvement after a cold-shooting season opener.

The Nuggets hit just 35 percent of their shots in a win over Detroit, a game in which many of their best shooters suffered through off nights.

“I think Darrell Arthur, all seven of his looks were wide open,” Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. “(Danilo Gallinari’s) shots were a little tougher. But our main guys, our best shooters — Gallo, Randy (Foye), Darrell — struggled shooting the ball. So I don’t think that’s something that’s going to happen on a regular basis.”

Point guard Ty Lawson was among those that didn’t shoot it well on Wednesday night, going 1-for-7 from the field himself.

Tonight, Lawson said there’s no need for huge adjustments in his game, that he’ll be “the same Ty Lawson that you’ve been seeing, coming out aggressive, trying to get into the paint and make things happen.”

Shaw echoed the fact that he didn’t think one poor shooting night from his team warranted big adjustments prior to the Oklahoma City game.

“The offense will round itself out and come around,” Shaw said. “I thought we got the shots that we wanted, we just didn’t knock them down.”

Footnotes. Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook underwent surgery to repair a fractured finger and will not play tonight. He’s expected to be out at least four weeks. … All Nuggets players are available for tonight’s game against the Thunder, except J.J. Hickson who continues to sit out due to a five-game suspension.
