No survivors were found Wednesday in the wreckage of a small plane missing since Friday when it left a New Mexico airport headed for southern Colorado.
The Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the wreckage was discovered about 12:30 p.m.
Archuleta County authorities and the Colorado Civil Air Patrol had been looking for the plane, thought to have disappeared near the state line near Pagosa Springs.
The plane, a single-engine Mooney M20C, was flying from Moriarity, N.M., to Pagosa Springs when it went missing. The plane is registered to Howard F. Guthrie of Rio Rancho, N.M., according to Federal Aviation Administration records.
New Mexico State Police identified those aboard the plane as Guthrie, 55, and Melissa Watson, 42, of Albuquerque.
