1 Intruder breaks glass, evades authorities, leaves hoof prints. Deputies responding to a residential alarm in the 2200 block of Pleasant Park Road, Conifer, found that an exterior window pane was broken, saw several brown scratch marks on the interior pane and fresh hoof tracks nearby. They reported a large brown animal ran away when they arrived.

2 Apple pie liquor lifted. On Nov. 7, Clear Creek Liquors, 711 Washington Ave., Golden, reported the theft of a bottle of apple pie-flavored Midnight Moon Moonshine. The store owner and a witness said a blonde woman in a black jacket grabbed the bottle on her way out of the store and fled in a Toyota pickup.

3 Murder on Black Widow. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 31000 block of Black Widow Drive, Conifer, on Nov. 14 where a mail carrier said she saw the word “murder” written on an interior wall of a house where mail had not been picked up for several weeks. Deputies got no answer when they knocked and entered the unlocked house. They found evidence the house was being remodeled and used for a Halloween party.

4 Lights out, deer decoy stolen. A resident reported suspicious incidents at her property in Conifer on Nov. 15. She said bulbs in her outdoor lights were out, but appeared to be just loosened. A deer decoy was also missing from her yard. She said she suspected her neighbors, who have complained to officials about her lights and hunting on her own property. However, the resident did not want deputies to contact the neighbors and increase tensions.
