
After more than a week of publicizing actor of his new film “The Interview,” the Denver Film Society told The Cannabist on Wednesday that the event had been cancelled by the creative team.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Denver Film Society and Reel Social Club have been informed that the promotional screening of ‘The Interview’ with Seth Rogen in person has been cancelled,” Denver Film Society honcho Britta Erickson told The Cannabist.
After the screening was on Nov. 25, Rogen then started tweeting about the event — with him promising: “We are going to do a screening of #TheInterviewMovie in Colorado where I get baked with everyone first, and we can smoke weed in the theater.”
There was no word on Wednesday if the — attributed by some to North Korea, which is mocked in the comedy — had anything to do with the cancelled Denver screening. A Sony insider on Wednesday that the studio isn’t altering the film whatsoever before its Christmas Day release, regardless of who did the hacking.
