Re: “FAA rules poised to set back drones,” Dec. 2 editorial.
What would your opinion be if a drone operator takes out a jet departing DIA or crashes into the crowd at a Broncos game? Pilots of manned aircraft are required to get licenses for a reason, just like drivers on the road. Because an aircraft is being flown from the ground does not mean it is any less of a potential threat than a manned aircraft. Yes, the FAA operates conservatively; do we really want it to do otherwise?
