Depth forwards Marc-Andre Cliche, Dennis Everberg, Jesse Winchester and Patrick Bordeleau went through a full Avalanche practice Sunday, and at least two might return to the lineup from injuries Tuesday against Nashville at Pepsi Center.
Avs coach Patrick Roy will address reporters after Monday’s practice, but it appears the bottom half of his forward corps might be returning to its original form.
Colorado on Saturday making room for at least two of the veterans. Without Sgarbossa, Vincour and the four injured players, the Avs have just nine true forwards, plus defenseman Nick Holden, who has played left wign of late.
Odds are good Cliche (oblique) and Everberg (shoulder) will play Tuesday.
Winchester (concussion) and Bordeleau (back surgery) have not yet played this season. Winchester said he continues to have vision problems while skating at Pepsi Center, with the seating, ailes and other landmarks making him sick and “just not right.” He suffers the same problem walking down grocery store aisles and at other colorful and confined spaces. But he said he feels fine at the Avs’ practice facility.
Winchester was treated by a specialist in Detroit last week and was again comforted in hearing he should continue to practice and his illness should go away.
Valuable center/wing John Mitchell (leg) and veteran defenseman Brad Stuart (hamstring) did not skate Sunday, along with defenseman Erik Johnson (maintenance day) and forward Alex Tanguay (maintenance).
Colorado’s three home games this week are each against Central Division foes. The Avs play Winnipeg on Thursday and the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
