BROOMFIELD —` The Broomfield City Council has approved raises for the city manager and city attorney. City and County Manager Charles Ozaki will get a $4,700 annual raise in 2015, bringing his salary to $190,100. City and County Attorney Bill Tuthill will get a $7,000 raise in 2015, bringing his salary to $182,000.

Tuthill also will get a $6,000 bonus in 2014, because he spent time working on court cases related to Broomfield’s elections process and fracking issues. Other cities embroiled in fracking debates typically hire outside litigators, so Tuthill saved Broomfield money by taking on the cases himself, said Mayor pro tem Greg Stokes.

Even with the raises, Ozaki and Tuthill are paid less than their counterparts in Boulder. Boulder City Manager Jane Brautigam in September received a 4 percent raise, bringing her salary from $208,631 to $216,976 a year. Boulder City Attorney Tom Carr also received a raise in September. He will earn $194,132, up from $186,666.
