Almost everything along the Front Range has enough ice to fish, but extreme caution is necessary because thin spots do exist, especially at Aurora and Cherry Creek reservoirs. One of the better producers has been St. Vrain State Park (Barbour Ponds), where the rainbows have been providing excellent action. Chatfield, Aurora, Boulder and Boyd have been producing a few small perch as well as rainbows. For those looking for lake trout, Green Mountain, Jefferson and Chambers have been producing fair numbers of smaller fish, up to 20 inches.
