
Police in Commerce City said Monday they are continuing to search for a Denver man who after a traffic stop on Saturday night.
Police released a photo of Nicholas Damon, 29, who faces charges of assault on a police officer, felony menacing, resisting arrest, vehicular eluding and hit-and-run.
The two officers had minor injuries, Commerce City Detective Christian Rasmussen said.
The officers stopped the vehicle at 66th Avenue and Monoco Parkway at 10:15 p.m., Rasmussen said.
During the stop, the officer determined there was a misdemeanor warrant for the driver’s arrest.
When officers attempted to arrest the driver, he resisted and attempted to flee.
“He backed into the patrol vehicle, and the officers tried to tase him,” and he took off, injuring two of the officers.
The officers were “spun around” when the vehicle was struck, Rasmussen said.
Officers pursued the suspect to the 8200 block of the Interstate 76 Frontage Road where he crashed and he fled on foot.
