Let’s face it. We don’t all have the time to sit down and listen to every movement, every solo, every chorus, pre-chorus, bridge and coda of an epic song. There’s nothing wrong with long songs, but they’re not the most practical. Plus, this is 2015, the digital generation is used to skipping through songs with the swipe of a finger. Music ADD has made listeners impatient. So, if we don’t have the attention span to listen to lengthy music, why not dedicate tens of seconds to an entire song?
We put together a playlist of the best songs shorter than one minute from the likes of the Beatles, J Dilla, Tame Impala, Animal Collective and more. And the best part, this whole playlist will be faster to listen to than the Rush song “2112.”
