A man suspected in a string of burglaries in Arvada, Broomfield and Wheat Ridge was arrested Thursday by Arvada police.
Besides burglary charges, Joey Dellert, 28, was also charged with second-degree assault following a Feb. 12 incident in which he allegedly injured a Broomfield police officer who was attempting to detain him, dragging the officer behind his car. The officer’s injuries were not serious.
Following that incident, officials said, Dellert avoided capture until Thursday, when he was taken into custody after attempting to flee and a brief struggle.
Police said Dellert remains a suspect in additional cases in the metro area.
