A man found to be living illegally in a downtown Denver restaurant when he fell from inside its ceiling into a wall space has been sentenced to two years of mental health probation.
Stephen Graves, 36, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespass, a felony, the Denver district attorney’s office announced Tuesday. His sentence will run concurrently with two other cases — one from Denver and one from Jefferson County.
The office says Graves caused thousands of dollars damage when he broke a sprinkler head, causing damage to the Yard House and the neighboring Sheraton Hotel.
Graves was discovered stuck in the wall space Dec. 10. Officials have not said how long Graves had been living in the restaurant. Fire crews used a chain saw to cut him out of the wall.
