Boulder County officials are not on board with a federal lawsuit that seeks to overturn the voter-passed measure that legalizes recreational marijuana.
Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle said he doesn’t want to overcome the will of voters by spending taxpayer money on a lawsuit.
“The people in my county overwhelmingly supported this amendment,” Pelle said.
He added that while sheriffs swear to uphold the U.S. Constitution, county officers also constitute a subdivision of the state and must uphold the state constitution.
