CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — An Arizona sheriff’s department says deputies haven’t recovered all the marijuana bales that suspects tossed out of an SUV during a high-speed pursuit last week.

Dash-cam video (see below) released by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office shows many of the 22 bales of pot flying out a window and onto the highway during the March 4 chase.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jim Knupp says four or five vehicles were seen stopping as people picked up bales or partial bales. Deputies recovered 374 pounds of marijuana, but some wasn’t found.

The chase started on Interstate 8 in south-central Arizona, continued on Interstate 10 and ended when the vehicle pulled off a two-lane road and stopped after driving over tire-puncturing sticks.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of marijuana trafficking offenses and flight.
