A man who created a threatening disturbance outside his apartment was shot by police officers Saturday evening, according to an Englewood Police Department statement.
The 27-year-old suspect was transported to Swedish Medical Center.
Police did not release his name and said the extent of his injuries was not yet known.
The man was causing a disturbance outside his apartment in the 5100 block of South Delaware Street, police said.
When a neighbor asked him to quiet down, the suspect pointed a silver-colored handgun at him and verbally threatened him.
The neighbor called police, who arrived at about 8:05 p.m. Both officers were involved in the shooting incident.
They were not injured and have been placed on administrative leave pending a full investigation by the Police Department in conjunction with the inter-agency Critical Response Team. This is normal procedure during an incident such as this, police said.
