1 Drunken toilet paper heist. Employees of the Walgreens at 10501 E. Colfax Ave. called police after a man who was drinking shooters outside the store came in and filled his arms with toilet paper, soda and deodorant before running out of the store March 9.
2 Nest egg stolen. A woman lost $1,400 while she was trying to rent a home in the 17100 block of East Chenango Avenue. The victim found the home on Zillow and corresponded with a man pretending to own it, and who had her send a money order to a home in Illinois. On March 9, she waited at the house for hours to get the keys before she knew she’d been had.
3 Potted plant casualty. The owners of Creel Automotive at 9429 E. Colfax Ave. called police March 8 because someone threw a rock through the front window of the business and killed a potted plant that was in the lobby.
4 Stay out. A man was arrested March 8 for trying to kick in his mother’s front door in the 1600 block of South Pagosa Court. The suspect’s mother kicked him out months ago, but he was back because his girlfriend kicked him out, too.
5 Stolen identity. A woman who lives in the 10700 block of East Exposition Avenue called police March 5 because she tried to open a new bank account, only to find that someone else had used her Social Security number to open one months ago.
6 Window smashers. The owner of Ethiopian Food and Coffee at 1074 S. Ironton St. called police March 8 because someone smashed her business’ front window with a rock. There are no suspects.
