Police in Lakewood have identified a 31-year-old woman suspected in a crash apparently precipitated by road rage on Sunday that left three people injured, two of them seriously.

Carrie T. Marolf is suspected of vehicular assault and reckless driving, police said.

Authorities say Marolf was driving a silver Ford Explorer when she got upset with the driver of another vehicle and began swerving toward that vehicle near Sixth Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard.

Marolf was “taunting and scaring” the other driver, but did not hit their vehicle, police spokesman Ty Countryman said.

While swerving, Marolf lost control, slid, hit the median and rolled twice, Countryman said.

There were three people inside the Ford, including Marolf, and all were taken to a hospital. Marolf sustained minor injuries and her two passengers were seriously injured in the wreck.

The apparent road rage crash was one of and two under arrest.
