Neighborhood dump. A woman who was moving out of her house in the 1800 block of South Flanders Way reported that her neighbors left a red sofa and other old furniture on her lawn March 24. Different neighbors called police to report the mess, so the victim wanted to report that it wasn’t her fault.

Mass break-ins at the storage center. The owner of Alpine RV and Boats Storage, 16451 E. Second Ave., called police March 24 because unknown people used bolt cutters to break onto the property and ransack several people’s cars and trailers. The only thing that was certainly stolen was a chainsaw from a man’s car.

Create a diversion. A man shopping at Alta Convenience, 13694 E. Iliff Ave., ran out of the store with a carton of cigarettes March 19. The suspect asked the clerk to get him something from a high shelf behind the counter. He took off while her back was turned.

Foiled hackers. Scammers pretending to work for Manheim Denver Auto Auction, 17500 E. 32nd Ave., were unable to collect $112,500 from employees at the company March 19. The suspects created a company e-mail address and tried to have the money sent to Hong Kong.

All gunked up. A student at Overland High School, 12400 E. Jewell Ave., called police March 20 because someone was pouring sticky brown substance on his car. There are no suspects.

Paranoid tantrum. A woman called police to her home in the 900 block of South Helena Way because her live-in boyfriend broke her purse and punched a hole in the wall March 24. The suspect was angry that the victim got off work late.
