Getting your player ready...
How easy is it to find country club living around Denver? Fifty years ago you could have found numbers of clubs among new communities, in addition to famous older clubs; but in today’s low-inventory market, a golf club lifestyle is a rarity – particularly at the low prices that you’ll find Lennar Homes offering at a club grand opening this weekend.
Blackstone Country Club in south Aurora, built around a 7,313-yard Jay Morrish-designed course, has a 35,000-square-foot clubhouse you’ll have to see to believe – Old World grandeur, leading the way to eye-catching amenities designed for newer tastes, just south of two new Lennar models that grand-open tomorrow. Lennar will have the Cupcake Truck on hand; and can show you two ranches ready for move-in now, along with a few homes that’ll be ready by mid-summer, and a choice of large sites, some backing to the fairways. “Even aside from their location inside a nice private club, these are homes that will stand out for their value in size and features,” says Jeff Everhart, who will be on hand with Chris Clark this weekend to show you around. They’ll arrange for you to get a look inside the clubhouse, at its lavish formal areas, along with an inviting bar-grill with a golf/mountain view for entertaining your guests, plus a Starbucks bar, great looking pool, and workout center. Blackstone, 2-½ miles east of E470 on Smoky Hill Road, was featured by Avid Golfer magazine in 2012 for the quality of its private club membership – something that’s packaged into your residency here. Every Lennar resident receives a social membership covered as part of your monthly HOA dues, currently only $170. Golf memberships are very reasonable – hugely so, compared to famous clubs in Denver and Cherry Hills. (Lennar’s Chris Clark was former club pro at Columbine Country Club, and can tell you all about playing this course). For a setting like this, Lennar is putting a major focus on ranch plans – including a 2,737-square-foot Wellington model you can tour, a plan that can work together well with a deck and walkout basement, available on some of these sites. (Lennar also has a family-sized Peyton model on view, four-bedrooms plus a study, plus full-wide 3-car garage. Blackstone is a neighborhood from which to take advantage of Cherry Creek Schools; just a mile from the Fox Ridge/Cherokee Trail middle/high school campus.) If you’re looking for a country club living in the nearer term, Lennar has two large ranches ready for move-in now, including a Monarch 4-bedroom ranch, 2,719 square feet, plus tandem 3-car garage, at $474,900. Like all of these homes, it comes with Lennar’s ‘Everything’s Included’ standard features such as slab granite counters, stainless appliances, fireplace, air conditioning, front yard landscaping, and smart-home features that run from an iPhone. Meanwhile, with the new series, Lennar includes clean, renewable solar energy at no additional cost: state-of-the-art systems provided and maintained by SunStreet Energy Group. Blackstone offers a good commuting situation for either DTC or DIA via E470. From 470 take Smoky Hill east three miles, past Powhaton, and turn south on Country Club Parkway to the models; or from Aurora take Arapahoe all the way east to Smoky Hill and turn east past Powhaton to Country Club. WHERE: Grand opening, Blackstone Country Club by Lennar, spacious ranch & family-sized homes in private golf club; 2 ranches for quick move-in, club social membership included with low HOA, solar system, golf course sites, Cupcake Truck Saturday. 7569 S. Country Club Pkwy, Aurora; from E470 take Smoky Hill Rd east 3 mi., past Powhaton Rd (becomes Smoky Hill Pkwy) ½-mile to Country Club Pkwy, turn southand business; you can email him at
