Police in Colorado Springs arrested a 15-year-old boy on Thursday night after they say he stole a woman’s car keys and vehicle after the two briefly sat in an apartment complex hot tub together.
The woman called police at about 8:30 p.m. from the 3600 block of Knoll Drive and said she was in the complex’s jacuzzi when the teen got in with her. She told police he “then evidently exited, leaving the area with her car keys.”
The woman realized her car was missing and called police, authorities say.
After tracing purchases on the woman’s credit card, police tracked the boy at a convenience store and took him into custody without incident.
Officials did not release the boy’s name.
