Tia Maria: Sitting just north of the Twin Lakes neighborhood at 7260 Pecos St., Tia Maria is an excellent locals place that produces all manner of great food. I gave it a rave in a .
D’Corazon: LoDo workers love this place at 1530 Blake St. They boast that their carnitas has “28 secret ingredients.” Who are we to argue. I wrote three years ago. Bonus points for their terrific agua frascas.
Carnitas Estilo Michoacan: This restaurant offers excellent carnitas — sizzling and flavor-packed — at two locations: 2616 W. 32nd Ave. and 3001 W. Evans Ave.
La Calle Taqueria y Carnitas: More than 20 types of soft tacos at this popular spot at 1565 W. Alameda Ave., with nifty toppings such as charred pineapple. This is street-taco heaven.
