
Former basketball star Chauncey Billups and Mike Pritchard, the most valuable player on Colorado’s 1990 national championship football team, highlight a distinguished list of 11 members who will be inducted into CU’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
The 2015 class was announced Monday. The formal induction ceremony is Nov. 5 at the Coors Events Center in Boulder.
Billups, a Denver native, earned first-team All-America honors as a 1996-97 sophomore. He averaged 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.1 points in two seasons for the Buffaloes before embarking on an illustrious NBA career that lasted 17 seasons.
Pritchard, from Las Vegas, earned first-team all-Big Eight honors in 1990 for CU despite playing wide receiver on a primarily running offense. He averaged an astounding 26.4 yards per catch on 47 career receptions for the Buffs.
CU’s 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame class includes:
• Longtime administrator Jon Burianek (CU, 1968-2006).
• Baseball standout Bill Fanning (1946-49).
• Two-time All-America skier Stephan Hienzsch (1975-78).
• Baseball coach and football assistant Frank Prentup (1941-69).
• Women’s basketball standout Erin Scholz (1993-97).
• NCAA champion distance runner Mark Scrutton (1979-83).
• Women’s volleyball star Nicole Vranesh (1990-93).
• College basketball and NBA standout Scott Wedman (1971-74).
• All-conference golfer and PGA Tour player Tom Woodard
