Safeway officials announced last Saturday that they are closing nine grocery stores in the Denver metro area, including three in Aurora. (RJ Sangosti, Denver Post file)
Re: “Safeway to close nine grocery stores in Denver area,” May 10 news brief.
I just learned that Safeway will be closing several stores in the Denver area. I won’t miss the South Buckley and East Quincy stores in Aurora. The restrooms in those stores were filthy, and complaining did nothing to resolve the problem. I stopped shopping those stores, and perhaps others have as well. The thought of employees using those same restrooms, then preparing food, sickens me. Safeway could learn from King Soopers when it comes to clean restrooms.
