Sheriff: Colorado Springs man shot in home invasion drove to girlfriend’s home

COLORADO SPRINGS — A man who was shot during a home invasion in east Colorado Springs early Monday drove himself to his girlfriend’s house and later was taken to a hospital, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shortly after midnight, two men broke into a home on the 2400 block of Cherokee Park Place, the office said. The alleged robbers held the man, also the homeowner, at gunpoint and demanded cash, the sheriff’s office said.

After being shot, the man drove to his girlfriend’s house and was driven to a hospital, according to a sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
