1 Panhandler uses cane as threat. On May 10, the manager at 7-Eleven, 3177 E. Colfax Ave., called police to report a panhandler on the premises. The manager told Denver police that the suspect followed a customer into the store and asked for money. When he was told to leave, he raised his cane and shouted something incoherent.

2 Can’t grow that much pot. A homeowner was cited by Denver police on May 7 after it was discovered he was growing 30 pot plants in his home in the 4500 block of Pearl Street. Police had been called to the residence for another reason. The homeowner was not a medical marijuana provider, prohibiting him from growing that many plants.

3 Woman tries to break through wall. On May 8, a woman was arrested after she was caught trying to break through a laundry room wall into a man’s apartment in the 2200 block of East Buchtel Boulevard. The woman had peeled wallpaper in several common areas.

4 Suspects attack man, don’t take anything. A man called Denver police May 9 after he was assaulted outside La Pachonga Bar, 5195 Morrison Road. The man told police three suspects approached him near his car, demanded his wallet. The man began to fight the suspects, but one hit him with a baseball bat.

5 Man tries to kick in hotel door. On May 11, Denver police responded to a disturbance at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 1420 Stout St., where a man was trying to kick in a door to one of the rooms. The suspect was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and believed his girlfriend was being assaulted in the room. The man then spit on officers.
