Police in Fort Collins are searching for a homeless suspect in the stabbing Sunday evening of a 36-year-old man at a park.

Officers began investigating after they were called out at about 7:30 p.m. on reports of a stabbing near the 400 block of Peterson Street at Library Park.

The man stabbed was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. Officials say he is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a transient white man who is about 6-feet-tall and roughly 45-years-old. The suspect has a medium build and blonde hair and police say he was riding a blue bicycle, possibly a mountain bike, and had on a small blue and black backpack.
