Getting your player ready...

Tina Pachorek, owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: My husband, James, and I have owned beer bars for the last 12 years and always focused on beer. Once he was Knighted in Belgium and we spent more time over there learning the history and meeting the families and brewers, we decided we didn’t just want to serve the best beer, we wanted to make it, too.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: We offer traditional beer styles made by an experienced brewer. Between our brewer’s experience and our experience with beer, that’s more than 35 years. This knowledge and experience allows us to be creative and produce quality beer. We have hosted several Belgian brewers who have highly complimented our Grave Robber Fraud Quad beer. We also have a deli with a great selection of meat and cheeses. It’s a great picnic environment for enjoying a beer. Our concept is of a neighborhood brewery for grabbing a growler and items from the deli perfect for your outing.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: Some would say the best part is I get to drink beer at work, but really the best part is watching the enthusiasm of our staff as they talk about the beer. Meeting fun and exciting people is always a plus.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: If you knew the history, you would say that is a loaded question. We have had many challenges as little as having to meet with the National Historic Society and the NFL asking us to change our name, all the way to our contractor walking off the job with our money and not completing work he claimed he did. It was almost like starting over again. We are the first licensed brewer on Colfax, which happened in 2011, but it took a lot of hurdles and heartache to get open. It was worth the wait.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: My husband and I are Colorado natives and so is our brewer. Lost Highway Brewing has the ghosts from the Rocky Mountain Club, which led the way in a magnificent enterprise for noble and distressed Belgium in 1917. The ghosts have been tasting our beer for us in the middle of the night.
