Evergreen Trail Racing Series

July 11, Aug. 1, Aug. 29 and Oct. 3: The Evergreen Trail Racing Series continues with the Elk Meadow 5K & 10K July 11, Mount Falcon 15K Aug. 1, Bergen Peak Half-Marathon Aug. 29 and Fall EverGold 10-Miler Oct. 3. Liberty Run 4 Mile

July 4: “Red, White & You!” is the theme for the annual Liberty Run that includes a run/walk, competitive USATF judged race walk and the Kids Firecracker Fun Run. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. Pinnacle Mountain Bike Race Series

Through July 29: The 18th year of downhill and cross-country events for dirt racing fans is offered every Wednesday in July. Each race is free for riders in a continuing effort to “grow mountain bike racing in the Gunnison Valley.” Refreshments and raffle prizes included. Riders may participate in the cross country or downhill races, each grouped by age and ability categories. Registration is 4:30-5:15 p.m. followed by races for kids at 5:15 p.m. and cross country and downhill races at 5:45 p.m. Visit the website for more details.

Rendezvous Run for Independence

July 4: Winter Park’s 5-mile run/walk starts at 9 a.m. at the Vintage Hotel and follows a path through Winter Park Village, down Fraser River Trail and continues to the finish line. An after-party includes awards, prizes and refreshments. The race is offered as part of the annual Lance Gutersohn 4th of July celebration in Hideaway Park. Registration is $30, $25 age 18 and under, $60 family rate (up to six people). A shuttle service is provided.

Freedom Run 5K

July 4: The 34th annual benefit for Mount Evans Home Health & Hospice in Evergreen begins at 8 a.m. at Evergreen Middle School. $30, $15 age 18 and under. Additional $5 on race day. Proceeds benefit uninsured or underinsured patients along with providing patient transportation, grief counseling, respite care for family caregivers and Camp Comfort, a bereavement children’s camp. Yoga in the Gardens

July 11, Aug. 8 and Sept. 5: Offered in partnership with Miramont Lifestyle Fitness at The Gardens on Spring Creek. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with the yoga class 8:30-9:30 a.m. A Yoga Summer Pass that includes all sessions is $30. Walk-in rate is $10. Bring a yoga mat and water. July 17: The 16th annual tournament is a benefit for the Limb Preservation Foundation. July 11: The fourth annual walk/run benefit for International Hearing Dog, Inc. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Start time is 8 a.m. Dogs welcome. Proceeds benefit dog training to help the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Biennial Soccer Fest with the Colorado Rapids

July 11: Offered as part of the Biennial of the Americas, the Soccer Fest includes a Family 5K Walk & Run at 3 p.m. followed by a skills contest, soccer field inflatable, face painting, a Vendor Village, music, food trucks and more. The Colorado Rapids play Real Salt Lake at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30-$50 includes goody bag, game ticket and more, details on the website. Game tickets for non-runners are $25. Bike Granby Ranch: Mountain Bike Program for Veterans

July 8-Sept. 17: Offering a new biking program for veterans with two-day outings for 2-6 veterans (based on skill level) for free. Dates include July 8-9, July 22-23, Aug. 5-6, Aug. 19-20 and Sept. 16-17. Bike tickets, rentals, kits and camping accommodations are included. Yoga Rocks the Park

July 26, Aug. 23 and Sept. 6: The seventh season continues and this year with free admission.
