
The Red Cross is helping three families displaced in a Tuesday apartment fire in Lakewood.
A fire at 1475 Harlan St. on Tuesday afternoon spread to three apartments and caused damage and displaced residents, according to an American Red Cross news release.
The Red Cross team will provide temporary shelter, comfort items and assistance as needed, the release said.
The Red Cross volunteers said they had four adults in temporary lodging as of 9:55 p.m.
Around 5:30 p.m., West Metro Fire Rescue tweeted that flames were out, although hot spots remained at the scene of the fire.
Around 7:30 p.m., the fire department said a fire investigation dog named Riley with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation was inspecting the scene.
West Metro Fire Rescue did not immediately respond to further questions about the fire.
