
1 Drinking in the rain. A man sitting in McIlvoy Park, 5750 Upham St., Arvada, past curfew June 26 with an open container told police he was hanging out waiting for the rain to stop. A few moments later, park sprinklers turned off and the man said “Oh, look, it stopped raining.” The confused man and two of his buddies were issued drinking and curfew citations.
2 Bar brawlers. Two friends leaving the Arvada Tavern on June 27 began brawling with another bar patron in the 5800 block of Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada. Police issued two disorderly conduct tickets after the fracas.
3 Brother vs. sister. A woman told police she came back to Arvada on June 26 from vacation to find minor damage to her car she had parked at her brother’s house in the 7600 block of Quail Street. She also noticed there was less gas in the vehicle and additional miles on it. Her brother denied using the car, and suggested his sister may have forgotten about damage she did to the vehicle.
4 Stumbling drunk at Dairy Queen. A woman stumbling outside Dairy Queen, 7580 W. 64th Ave., Arvada, was arrested June 25 for violation of a protection order. Police found beer cans and an empty bottle of vodka on the heavily intoxicated woman.
5 Couple’s counseling needed. A man upset his girlfriend caught him watching pornography June 28 later sprayed her with a water hose as she slept in the basement of their home in the 8200 block of West 72nd Avenue in Arvada. He was arrested and charged with domestic violence after admitting to slapping her.
