A 37-year-old Loveland woman is being held on suspicion of attempted murder after police say she “repeatedly” stabbed a man on Tuesday night.
Bernadette Vasquez is accused of first-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault in the attack, police say.
Loveland police were called about 6:30 p.m. to 2150 W. 15th St. on reports that a 45-year-old man had been stabbed several times and taken to a hospital.
Investigators say the man was at home when Vasquez, an acquaintance, came to his home, produced a knife and began stabbing him.
Police say a neighbor heard the attack and intervened, taking the victim to a hospital after bandaging him at her home.
“Vasquez returned to her home, a nearby apartment, where she was later contacted by Loveland police and arrested without incident,” police said in a Wednesday news release. “The victim was treated and released from the hospital.”
Vasquez was booked into the Larimer County jail in the case.
