Colorado Springs police have arrested three men in connection with the shooting death of 14-year-old Desmond Smith of Colorado Springs.
Smith was killed by a shotgun blast early Saturday near Pikes Peak and Farragut avenues, according to a news release from the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Three arrests were made later Saturday. Raymond Rogan Jr., 18, of Colorado Springs, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. His father, Raymond Rogan Sr., 35, also of Colorado Springs, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and accessory to first-degree murder after the fact. Riccardo Kirven, 31, of Colorado Springs was also arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
Colorado Springs police said this is the 12th homicide in the city this year.
