Arvada police are searching for a man wanted on suspicion of stealing several vehicles this year through his work as a mechanic.
Arrest warrants for misdemeanor theft and three felony counts of motor vehicle theft have been issued for 54-year-old Ronald Cox, police said Monday.
“Between February 2015 and July 2015, the Arvada Police Department received reports of thefts relating to car repair work that was not completed and customers’ vehicles that went missing after a mechanic seemingly disappeared,” police said in a news release.
Victims identified the mechanic as Cox, who owned Always Available Mobile Mechanics.
“Since the initial investigation, additional victims have come forward, and investigations have resulted in several criminal charges,” the release said.
Cox is 5-feet 9-inches tall and has white hair and blue eyes.
Police say Cox may be living in the Littleton or Englewood areas out in a stolen 1998 Red Chevrolet C1500 truc with Texas plate BVR-9393.
Anyone with additional information on Cox or his whereabouts is asked to call police 720-898-6746 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
