Interview with Jason San, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: It was a serendipity moment. I was speaking with one of my uncles who was already in the business. He was considering this current location for another restaurant venture. I was laid off at the time from the mortgage industry. The recession of 2008 was an actual blessing in disguise that led me to this chance happening.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: I believe it is a fresh face and ambience that is so different from your typical mountain town settings. The decor is definitely urban contemporary but retaining a cozy, small-town feel. The warm radiant light emitting from the beautiful orange pendant light during winter months captures an inviting aura. We provide a experience that people deserve when they come out for a night of relaxing dining.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: Hands down it would have to be the appreciation and immense positive feedback from satisfied patrons. It really never gets old when someone of any age come up to you with a mile-long smile thanking you for making their dining experience a wonderful and enjoyable moment.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: It would have to be the limited space. The seating capacity currently can accommodate 33 people. The good news is, we are in the process of expansion. Current seating arrangement allows for eight tables; we are hoping to add another 12 tables.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Everybody at this establishment is very approachable and friendly. We are a for-profit business like anyone else, but we are in business also for the people, and experiences are treasured by all.
