1 Trash spewed into street. On July 17, a Denver police officer saw a man knock a heavy metal trash can into the street in the 1400 block of Tremont Place, causing cars to swerve. Trash also spilled into the street and the suspect walked away. Another 100-pound trash container was found in the street a block away. The suspect was arrested.

2 Hennessy thrown toward cops. A gang member threw a bottle of Hennessey toward a Denver police car on July 17 at Sonny Lawson Park, 2301 Welton St. Police contacted the suspect who admitted to smoking pot in the park all day, but continued to threaten police. He was cited for littering and tore up the ticket and placed it in a trash can.

3 Employee hit with box of food. On July 16, an employee at Albertson’s, 323 S. Broadway, called Denver police after a customer attempted to shoplift and then assaulted an employee. The suspect was observed taking items and attempting to leave the store, but turned around after seeing an employee. When he was confronted, he grabbed a box of food and hit an employee.

4 Man vows to strike victim again. A man was arrested by Denver police on July 18 after he got into a physical altercation with another man in the 2500 block of Sheridan Boulevard. He said, “Yeah, I hit him and I’ll hit him again.”

5 Jail inmate hits TV. On July 15, Denver police responded to an incident at the Denver City Jail, 490 W. Colfax Ave., where an inmate punched a TV, rendering it inoperable. The incident was caught on several cameras in the area.
