
A teen suspect in the Colorado Springs of a 14-year-old boy surrendered to authorities Monday night, police say.
Jerry Hernandez Jr., an 18-year-old from Colorado Springs, turned himself in about 8:30 p.m. at the El Paso County jail. Hernandez faces allegations of attempted second-degree murder in the Thursday shooting in the 700 block of Chapman Drive.
Police were called about 1:45 p.m. Thursday on reports of a shooting at the Pine Creek Village Apartments when they discovered the scene.
The 14-year-old is at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora where he has been stabilized, authorities said Monday.
