1 Stealing the party. A woman was ticketed for trying to walk out of the Albertson’s at 6100 S. Gun Club Road with a full purse of stolen candy in one hand and a stolen balloon in the other July 19. The suspect was crying and told police that she has a mental condition that makes her want things that are new.

2 Fake bill collector. A man pretending to work for Xcel Energy called a woman who lives in the 22500 block of East Peakview Drive and told her that she hadn’t paid her bill in two months and he was going to cut off her power July 16. The woman panicked and gave the suspect $758.95, then realized later she’d been had.

3 Not cool. A man’s rooftop air conditioner was stolen from his yard in the 1700 block of North Havana Street before he could install it July 20. The thief also took some aluminum siding.

4 Burglar steals garage door opener. Police were called to the 1600 block of South Vaughn Court because someone tried to get into a woman’s house by using her garage door opener July 15. The woman said the burglar took the opener out of her car while it was left unlocked in the driveway. No one went into her home

5 Paint damage. After last call July 17 at McDonough’s Pub at 10395 E. Iliff Ave., a man noticed that someone keyed his Trail Blazer, 360 degrees around. There are no suspects.

6 Not my account. A man who lives in the 1500 block of South Nuncla Street reported July 16 that someone tried to open a Sprint account in his name. Looking into his credit history, he found that there were other fraudulent accounts opened.
