SUMMIT COUNTY — Keystone Resort evacuated its employee housing Sunday after local firefighters responded to small wildland blaze off U.S. 6.

Lake Dillon Fire Rescue firefighters responded to the wildfire between the highway and 155 Tennis Club Road after it was reported at about 1:15 p.m. With the help of Copper Mountain Fire and Red and White & Blue Fire of Breckenridge, 11 firefighters contained the blaze to two-tenths of an acre by 2 p.m.

The fire was burning in grass, sage and a stand of aspen near several of the resort’s employee housing buildings, but no buildings were threatened and damage was limited to vegetation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Lake Dillon Fire chief Jeff Berino believes it was human-caused.
