New car and truck registrations in Colorado dipped 1.2 percent in July from the same month a year earlier but still are up for the first seven months of the year.

In July, 13,676 new cars and trucks were registered in the state, according to a report released Monday by the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association. That’s down from 13,841 in July 2014.

For the year, more than 108,300 new cars and trucks have been registered, an increase of about 4.5 percent from the same time last year, when about 103,600 vehicles were registered.

The state’s used vehicle market was up in July, by 3.5 percent over a year earlier, and has increased 5.8 percent overall this year.

SUVs and pickups are leading in market share gains, according to the report. Several brands have seen an increase of more than 15 percent this year: Chrysler, Lincoln, Porsche, Mazda, GMC and Buick.
