Pueblo police say a 32-year-old man was killed as he went to confront a group painting gang graffiti behind his home.

“The victim was shot after approaching them,” police said in a news release.

Authorities say the man was shot about 8:15 p.m. in an alley near the 1800 block of East Routt Avenue. According to police, the group was painting the graffiti on the man’s property.

Police have not named the dead man or said if they have arrested or identified any suspects in the case.
