1 Jail mail causes scare. A man living in the 4500 block of Greenwich Drive, Highlands Ranch, received a letter from a local jail Sept. 4 reading, “You don’t know me but we have mutual interests.” The letter, signed Mr. Rodgers, said “I’ll be watching you closely.”

2 Anger management. On Aug. 21, a man entered King Soopers,750 N. Ridge Road, Castle Rock, and began verbally abusing the staff while trying to buy cigarettes. He said his ex-girlfriend worked there and he had a restraining order against her. He demanded she be fired before storming out. Store staff asked police to contact the man and warn him he is no longer welcome there.

3 Long distance harassment. A man living in the 500 block of White Cloud Drive, Highlands Ranch, on Sept. 5 said he was receiving texts, phone calls and voicemails from his friend’s wife in Grand Junction looking for her husband. He told her he was not there and but she kept calling until after midnight. She called while officers were there and they warned her to stop.

4 Damaging doughnut. A man parked at Shea Stadium,3270 Redstone Park Circle, Highlands Ranch, on Sept. 4 found two of his windows broken. He found evidence that another vehicle had spun out in the lot, kicking up rocks and doing the damage.

5 Bikes boosted. A neighbor told a woman living in the 600 block of West County Line Road, Highlands Ranch, that her garage had been open all day on Sept. 7. Two bikes, worth a combined $2,500, were gone. The owner said the garage was locked overnight.
