Broncos coach Gary Kubiak announced Friday cornerback Kayvon Webster (ankle) is doubtful to play Sunday against Detroit.
With Webster likely out, rookie cornerback Lorenzo Doss should be in line for his first NFL action as the fourth corner.
The coach also said defensive end Kenny Anunike (knee) and safety Omar Bolden (foot) are questionable, and guard Louis Vasquez (knee) is listed as probable.
Kubiak considers Anunike and Bolden to be game-time decisions.
All four players practiced on a limited basis Friday, and running C.J. Anderson (ankle/toe) has practiced full all week.
The rest of the team, Kubiak said, will be good to go.
“We haven’t had this problem in a few weeks where everybody is kind of healthy,” Kubiak said. “We have to sort out our 46 and see which way we go.”
Kubiak again stated how the offense displayed in the first two games was not good enough. Still, he doesn’t feel clashes with his system and quarterback Peyton Manning are a problem.
“We’re not mixing anything. We’re trying to run the Denver Broncos offense,” Kubiak said. “We’d like to be balanced. Obviously, we have been struggling running the football. When you’re doing that, you’re usually not protecting well, you’re usually not making big plays.”
Kubiak waved off notions that defenses have caught up to zone-blocking schemes.
