A 32-year-old Highlands Ranch man turned himself into Douglas County authorities investigating a Tuesday hit-and-run incident which seriously injured a jogger.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday night identified the suspect as Markus Lide.
Lide turned himself in through his attorney after negotiating with deputies, according Sgt. Lori Bronner, a sheriff’s spokeswoman.
He was in custody Wednesday night.
The happened Tuesday morning in Highlands Ranch.
The jogger, Tina Benner, was found at about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of South University Boulevard and South Crossland Way.
Benner, who was found down in the road and bleeding, was taken to a local hospital.
Investigators believe Benner was on the sidewalk when she was hit.
The vehicle that hit her sustained front-end damage and lost a passenger-side mirror in the collision.
